ALOR SETAR: A businessman (pic) was arrested for allegedly making false claims amounting to more than RM190,000 in Berseri, Perlis.
He was picked up by a Kedah Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commis-sion (MACC) team yesterday.
Its director Datuk Mohd Fauzi Mohamad confirmed the arrest.
The suspect, in his 30s, had apparently made claims for 11 career development programmes which were not conducted between 2013 and last year.
Investigations showed that he could be working closely with a female public university lecturer who also submitted false claims amounting to more than RM13mil. She was arrested by MACC on Jan 27.
Both cases are being investigated under Section 18 of the Anti-Corruption Act 2009.
