New Puspakom centre ready for customers

A NEW Puspakom centre will start operations in Prai from today.

Its chief executive officer Mohammed Shukor Ismail said the launch of the new centre at 2410, Jalan Perusahaan, Prai Industrial Estate, was to accommodate the increasing number of vehicles in Penang and the northern region.

“So the opening of the new branch, the 56th in the nation, is timely to meet the customers’ needs besides ensuring a smooth flow of service at all the Puspakom centres in the state,” he said in a statement recently.

He said the new centre would be the fourth office in Penang after the ones in Mak Mandin, Teluk Kumbar and Batu Maung.

“The new centre costing RM1.6mil is specifically for light vehicles such as personal cars, taxis, and rental and driving school cars.

“This inspection centre can check up to 150 vehicles in a day,” he said.

Mohammed Shukor added that from today, the Puspakom centre in Mak Mandin would not be conducting inspections on light vehicles anymore.
