OFFICE bearers and members of Community Development and Security Committees (JKKK) in Penang who cannot work with the state government will be replaced.
Deputy Chief Minister I Datuk Mohd Rashid Hasnon (PKR-Pantai Jerejak) said this at the Penang State Assembly yesterday.
Mohd Rashid (pic) was replying to an oral question by Datuk Mahmud Zakaria (BN-Sungai Acheh).
Mahmud asked about rumours of an exercise to replace PAS members in the 293 JKKKs in the state with members from different parties.
“They will be replaced with those who can work with the state government,” he said.
Mohd Rashid is also the state Indus-trial Development, International Trade, Cooperatives and Entrepreneur Development and Community Relations Committee chairman.
On hearing this, opposition assemblymen echoed: “Betullah (So it’s correct)”.
The Pakatan Harapan government is made up of DAP, PKR and Parti Amanah Negara (a splinter group of PAS).
