TANJUNG MANIS: Trac-Wheel (M) Sdn Bhd has being awarded the OSHAS (Occupational Safety and Health Management System) 18001:2007 by Sirim QAS International Sdn Bhd for putting top priority in the safety and health of its workforce.
The company is a supplier of port equipment and machinery and contractor for integrated operations, including stevedoring services in Miri and Tanjung Manis.
Speaking at a ceremony to present the training certificate and awarding of the OSHAS certificate to the company on Saturday, Assistant Minister in the Chief Minister’s Office (Promotion of Technical Education) Datuk Len Talif Salleh said the success of the company in being OSHAS compliant showed that it could be a model to other companies in the state to place the importance of workers’ safety and health.
“TM Education Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Trac-Wheel, was set up to provide courses in stevedoring engineering maintenance of port and machinery, including operators training,” Len Talif said.
“The training programme is runned by Tanjung Manis Technical Excellence Malaysia. I hope other companies in the state will emulate the good example set by Trac-Wheel.”added.
The OSHAS certificate was presented by Sirim QAS managing director Khalidah Mustafa to Trac-Wheel and TM Education managing director Richard Song Swee Jin at the ceremony.
