IOI Group executive chairman Tan Sri Lee Shin Cheng was conferred the Palm Oil Industry Leadership Award (PILA) 2015 by the Malaysian Palm Oil Council for his contribution to the development of the palm oil industry in the country.
TAN Sri Lee Shin Cheng left school at the age of 11 and sold ice cream to supplement his father’s income.
Today, Lee, 76, is the executive chairman of the IOI Group that he founded, which is among 16 Malaysian firms on Forbes’ latest annual Global 2000 ranking of the world’s biggest, most powerful and most valuable public companies.
