Exhibits on display at the Peace Exhibition on nuclear weapons

l The Print Room is having a Twisted Life exhibition, which will end this weekend at 49, Lorong 16/9E, Petaling Jaya. Guests will be able to view the work-in-progress (WIP) section to have a better understanding of the processes involved in producing the final images. Opening hours are from 2pm to 7pm this weekend.

• Artist Azam Aris is holding a solo exhibition until Aug 19 at HOM Art Trans, 6A, Jalan Cempaka 16, Taman Cempaka Ampang. Gallery hours are from 11am to 6pm on weekdays and 1pm to 6pm on Saturdays. • Core Design Gallery Sdn Bhd is showcasing an abstract art exhibition themed “Abstrak: Kini Dan Dulu” (past and present) until Aug 23 at 87, Jalan SS15/2A, Subang Jaya. This show features the works of 14 artists from the 1970s until now. Gallery opening hours are from 10am to 7pm on weekdays and noon to 6pm on weekends (by appointment). • Balai Seni Visual Negara (BSVN) is showcasing the works of artist Sylvia Lee Goh until Sept 27 at 2, Jalan Temerloh, Off Jalan Tun Razak, Kuala Lumpur. On display are her works throughout the 28 art exhibitions she had had internationally. Her works mostly reflect on her personal experience and on the Baba and Nyonya culture. Be serenaded by an ensemble of 12 musicians on Aug 22 at the Sunway University hall from 8pm. The Perak Society of Performing Arts and the Sunway University Ensemble will be presented by the Jeffrey Cheah Foundation. Pusaka Evenings at Publika is having a wayang kulit show featuring Kumpulan Sri Warisan Pusaka of Machang tomorrow, from 8.30pm at the Black Box, Publika Solaris Dutamas. Soka Gakkai Malaysia is having its first nationwide Peace Exhibition at Wisma Kebudayaan SGM, No 243, Jalan Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur. The exhibition aims to educate the public on the dangers of nuclear weapons. This exhibition will be held nationwide on various dates. The Society for the Severely Mentally Handicapped is having a charity carnival between Aug 22 and 23 at Bangsar Village 1. Funds raised will be channelled towards the rehab facilities in their centre which provides training for children with severe mental and physical disabilities.
