SELANGOR’s first LED Night Run will be held at the state’s premier LED tourism site i-City on Sept 12.
The run, organised by The Earth Runners, will kick off at 6.45pm with an estimated 10,000 participants.
Organiser Donny Teh said the aim of the run was to help families bond.
“Families can run together and enjoy the great concert we have organised at the end of the event,” he added.
Popular talents such as DJ Point from Man Hand and Yuming Lai from One Million Star Batch 2 will be performing at the concert.
The run’s main sponsors are i-City and Best Western i-City Hotel while other sponsors include Revive, Elitez Martial Arts, Pusat Tuisyen A1, and Garmin.
I-Berhad information manager Tang Soke Cheng said the event was in line with their concept as the LED city.
“We are encouraging people to switch to LED lights from the traditional film lights and the best way to promote that is to do fun things like this,” she said.
The Marathon Shop will be organising all the technical aspects of the run and will also be manning the water stands and the route.
Participants will be given a Limited Edition New Balance Running Shirt worth more than RM100, LED shoe laces and a LED wristband.
Runners also stand a chance to win lucky draw prizes while those who complete the run will receive a medal.
There are three categories to suit participants of all ages with the shortest route covering a distance of 2.9km while the longest will be 5.5km.
Routes for category A and B are 5.5km each while category C runners will cover a distance of 2.9km.
Runners can choose from two packages for the night run.
The first is the LED Run and Fun package with a stay priced at RM227.
