NEARLY 300 special guests had the time of their lives during the TOC Automotive College Foundation Day charity carnival in its campus in Petaling Jaya.
The special guests, mainly underprivileged children from the Zotung Refugee Catholic Learning Centre (ZRCC), Rumah Hope, Spastic Children’s Association of Selangor & Federal Territory, Agathians Shelter for Boys and Rumah Kasih Sayang Bandar Tasik Puteri, indulged in a whole day of fun and games.
The all-time favourite dunking machine was a huge hit, especially when TOC’s top management, including founder and chief executive officer Adelaine Foo, chief commercial officer Aien Mokhtar, training director Allan Cabiles and TOC Australia general manager Tim Firth volunteered for the task.
Foo was pleasantly surprised to see the turnout this year and announced that the charity carnival would be an annual corporate social responsibility event by TOC.
“This is the one day that we get to be selfless. When we have everything in our lives, sometimes we forget to be grateful and share what we have,” she said.
Foo added that the main objective of the carnival was to raise funds for the TOC Scholarship Foundation to help youths who have a passion for cars get globally recognised accreditation at TOC and secure their places in the automotive industry.
“For the 2014 academic year, we awarded scholarships and awards worth more than RM140,000. This year, we aim to raise more than RM200,000,” she said.
Among the corporate sponsors who generously contributed to the foundation this year are The Millennium Auto & Carriage (Mofaz) Sdn Bhd, Senaxis Sdn Bhd, QW PLUS Sdn Bhd and NS Auto USJ Sdn Bhd.
The TOC Scholarship Foundation was established in 2014 to provide Form Five school leavers from underprivileged families with professional automotive education and the opportunity to pursue a career in the vibrant local automotive industry.
Foo established TOC in 2004. A pioneer in professional automotive education, TOC aims to provide a platform for those who dare to dream to learn and secure their future in the automotive and motorsports industry.
