MALACCA: The diligence of Malacca police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Chuah Ghee Lye and two of his senior cops in quelling a captive drama has received praises from the state government.
DCP Chuah, his deputy Senior Asst Comm Mohd Shaharizan Che Mat Din and Melaka Tengah OCPD Asst Comm Shaikh Abdul Adzis Shaikh Abdullah spent Saturday night staying awake to see that the five members of a family emerge unscathed in a siege, has touched the heart of Chief Minister Datuk Seri Idris Haron.
Idris who is on an official trip to Mongolia to attend the World Assembly of Youth conference in his capacity as president of the International body, sent a Short Message System (SMS) to StarMetro, on May 18 appreciating the commitment of the senior police officers who spent their weekends working to ensure no untoward incident occured during siege drama.
“I express my utmost appreciation to DCP Chuah and his team including the other personnel involved in the rescue mission from saving three children from the suicidal man.
“The commitment of the senior Malacca police manifest their dedication to their profession and saving lives,” he said in his SMS.
