THERE was not much expectations on Ivan Oh to excel when he was selected to represent Malaysia in the men’s individual kata (non-combat) event of the fourth Southeast Asia (SEA) Karate Championships in Vientiane, Laos.
But the 18-year-old Penangite, who was making his international debut in the meet, stunned everybody by winning the gold medal.
