KUCHING: Pullman Kuching ushered in the Year of the Goat by tossing the yee sang with senior citizens from Rumah Seri Kenangan and industry partners on the seventh day of Chinese New Year.

Besides the yee sang and buffet spread, there were ang pows and Chinese New Year presents for the residents of Rumah Seri Kenangan.

Pullman Kuching has always been supportive of Rumah Seri Kenangan, bringing cheer to the old folk since 2010 as part of its corporate social responsibility.

Also present were Tourism Ministry permanent secretary Datuk Ik Pahon and representatives from travel agents, government agencies and the corporate sector.

Dressed in red or cheong sam, the guests had a great evening while being entertained by a lion dance performance from Xiong Wei Lion Dance Association, dance performance by the Dance Academy and Chinese New Year songs by Astro Classic Golden Melody Awards 2010 champion Irene Tam.

Pullman Kuching general manager Felix Yeo said 2014 had been an eventful and challenging year for the tourism sector in Sarawak.

“Moving forward, we have to work harder as partners in the industry to regain public confidence. Let’s hold hands together to put Sarawak back on the international map,” he said.

He was confident that with renewed efforts and enthusiasm, the state’s tourism industry would continue to progress in the coming years.

Meanwhile, Pullman Kuching is offering a Chinese New Year menu and yee sang special untilThursday. Three selections of an eight-course set dinner are available at its Nu Er Hong restaurant, priced from RM888+.
