Agreement lets students easily transfer credits

KOTA TINGGI: Kolej Yayasan Pelajaran Johor (KYPJ) students now have more opportunities to further their studies as agreements have been signed with three private higher education institutions.

Acting chief executive officer Abdul Razak Mohd Saad said the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) allows its students to further their students from diploma to degree or even higher.

He added that the centres included Raffles University Iskandar Johor Baru, Infrastructure University Kuala Lumpur, and International Islamic College Kuala Lumpur (IIC).

“This is to ensure our students have a brighter future and better chance to get employment after they complete their studies here,” he said at the MoU ceremony held at Orchard Golf and Country Resort here on Thursday.

He added that it was a win-win situation for both sides.

“For example, the cooperation with IIC will enable KYPJ business management students to get a degree as they have a collaboration with United Kingdom-based Teeside University,” he said.

KYPJ also has a working relationship with local institutions like Universiti Teknologi MARA, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia and Universiti Kuala Lumpur.

KYPJ also signed 13 MoUs with industrial partners to provide for attachment stints for their students.

“We want to provide on-the-job training to our students in several companies as this will help them when looking for a job.

“The programme will enable them to gain relevant skills to meet the demands of industry,” he said.
