The French brand has launched a new capsule collection with a rock ‘n’ roll theme, celebrating the classic American art-rock band.
After riffing on the aesthetics of fellow musical legends Nirvana, Joy Division and the Stone Roses, Sandro has revealed its latest capsule collection, a menswear line inspired by Sonic Youth.
Currently on hiatus, the band has been a fixture on the alternative music scene since the group was first founded by Thurston Moore and Kim Gordon in 1981.
Sandro’s 10-piece collection features T-shirts, sweaters and beanie hats inspired by a mix of American football graphics and 1990s grunge style, all produced in a mix of linen, cotton and wool jacquard fabrics. The T-shirt designs also feature American artist Raymond Pettibon’s cover-art for the band’s 1990 album Goo.
The pieces will be on sale from mid-July at all Sandro menswear stockists and online. — AFP Relaxnews
