Firefly passengers can now buy their flight ticket using an e-wallet, thanks to a new partnership with homegrown company Boost.
The collaboration between both parties will give travellers a new payment method for their travel bookings.
Firefly Airlines chief executive officer Ignatius Ong said the venture will appeal to an increasingly virtual marketplace.
“Firefly will be able to tap on a wider online customer base, while at the same time rewarding loyal customers who continue to support the airline,” he said.
Ong added that there will be more promotional activities and plans to further add value for passengers in the future.
Boost chief executive officer Christopher Tiffin said the company hopes to contribute to the growth of a cashless society.
“We have been building a cashless public transport ecosystem which before today, already covered road and rail-based modes of public transport,” he said, adding that the partnership with Firefly is crucial in its agenda.
“We’ve created an ecosystem where people in Malaysia can now travel conveniently without cash and enjoy a great experience. We are confident that the benefits and convenience for travellers as well as daily commuters will be immense,” Tiffin shared.
