It’s one of those trends that’s flamboyant and fabulous, but it takes guts to ruffle feathers, so to speak.
Far from subtle, some of the latest runway creations embellished with these plumes are wildly theatrical (in the most fashionable way, of course) and soaring to new heights of style.
For those who favour statement-making fashion, there are designs swathed and draped in feathers to the extreme. The trick to wearing such plumage is to own it.
It takes attitude, swagger and zero fear because feathers have that way of commanding a room, which means you can’t really hide in them.
So, when putting on something with any of these plumed pieces, be sure to go all in.
Of course, the use of feathers is not without its critics – but that’s a discussion for another day.

A standout is Dior’s wrap skirt enhanced with ostrich feathers. The black- and-white plumes sway as the model works the runway, lending drama and instant flair to the ensemble.
It’s paired with a fitted jacket detailed with buttons made from the exact same fabric.

Italian label Bottega Veneta goes full-on glamour with a woven leather top, bursting with a dense cloud of feathers that practically swallows the brand’s signature woven leather whole.

Feather-like boas made of dip-dyed silk emerge as the accessory du jour at Tory Burch’s Spring/Summer 2027 runway show presented in New York this month.
Draped over the shoulders or clutched in the hand like a Hollywood star’s security blanket, these faux feathers make an outfit look like a red-carpet mistake you’d proudly make anyway.

Spanish label Loewe also features feathery accents on a white skirt, swathed in tiers of fringe that swish and sway, mimicking the delicate movement of ostrich feathers.
Although they’re not the real deal, the “feathers” are every bit as dramatic and convincing.
On the local front, Rizman Ruzaini’s latest bejewelled evening gown gets matched with a tonal feather boa, showing that high-octane glamour doesn’t just walk into a room, it owns it.
