Despite a variety of trends that we are presented with every fashion season, designers still produce pieces that either boast timeless appeal or cleverly updated classic styles.

These lasting designs remain stylishly reliable, serving as anchor pieces in the wardrobe for many years to come.

Here, we take a look at some of the best looks from the latest collections that have broad appeal, surpassing the boundaries of time and trend.

After all, it is from the design duo’s newest range, inspired by Empress Mehrunissa of the Mughal Empire, known for her beauty, grace and influence, which left a lasting mark on the fashion, architecture and culture of Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Pakistan and India.

Also eternally chic is the safari style, famously brought out of the bush and onto the catwalk by the late Yves Saint Laurent with his African-themed collection showcased in the late 1960s.

In the French brand’s latest lineup designed by creative director Anthony Vaccarello, a variety of safari-inspired ensembles are featured, some refreshed and others in their classic forms.

Among them, we especially like the pantsuit design in a classic khaki colour, accessorised with a belt, sunglasses, large earrings and leather gloves.

Also springing forth from the savanna is the leopard print.

Some may say that it gives a tacky 80s vibe, this exotic motif carries with it a timeless charm.

However, never go overboard; leave the head-to-toe look for Halloween.

Take a cue from Michael Kors, whose latest leopard print coat radiates cool confidence.

It’s just the piece to add a touch of fierce elegance to any solid-coloured attire.

A rugged uniform favoured by bikers and rock stars, it represents a sense of freedom and rebellion.

Some are embellished with spikes and studs, but there are also sleek and minimal ones like the latest offering from French brand Sandro.

Whichever design you prefer, a leather jacket lends a cool, edgy flair to any ensemble.

It even works with a feminine dress for a captivating blend of rugged romanticism.

Also a must-have in every wardrobe is a smart shirt.

Versatile and effortlessly chic, it can seamlessly transition between various settings, from professional, casual to formal.

Our favourite is from Bottega Veneta’s Spring/Summer 2024 collection, which is in white with black stripes.

For women, the counterpart to the smart shirt is the bow-neck blouse.

Sophisticated and feminine at the same time, like the one from Max Mara’s Resort 2024 range, it can be worn with jeans, skirts or slacks.

What’s more, it has a pretty and polished aesthetic, making it suitable for various occasions.
