An abstract ladies’ wedge boot, with a masculine edge. — Loewe

IF you’ve been spending the most part of the past year barefoot as Covid-19 has kept us home, it may be time to start looking for footwear inspiration as lockdown restrictions begin easing.

Wear and tear doesn’t just happen with overuse. Those shoes left untouched in the wardrobe or on your shoe rack for prolonged periods of time may begin falling apart the second you strap them on, if they haven’t already been consumed by mould.

Before you head out next, check in on your rarely-used shoes and sandals and decide which styles need an update.

It’s also worth noting that many brands are holding sales, and plenty of older stock are on discount, so you may even end up with some major bargains when you decide to go shopping.

Heels may be the last thing on your mind at the moment but when invitations to events, parties and dinners begin filling up your calendar, you’ll want to be prepared with a good selection.

Burberry introduced their TB Summer Monogram collection not too long ago, with some chic choices like lambskin pointy-toe pumps, animated with a graphic Monogram print.

You can’t go wrong with Saint Laurent shoe styles, as evident by the Vesper slingback pump in red, orange and pink tweed with a silver metallic cap toe.

Elegant yet informal, they are perfect for a casual meet-up with friends or a catch-up over coffee with colleagues.

Walk effortlessly in Jimmy Choo’s Bella flats, made with Nappa leather which makes it a great combination of comfort and style.

These cute sandals are adorned with glossy white pearls and Swarovski crystals that twinkle in the sun and can be comfortably worn for extended periods of time.

For ultimate comfort and casual wear, check out Gucci’s Les Pommes Princetown slippers, embellished with a playful and romantic apple-and-heart motif.

There’s no winter in Malaysia, but it’s still good to keep up with trends for when we can travel abroad again, and some bold dressers will appreciate the opportunity to dress up with an edgy pair of boots.

Loewe’s wedge loafer boot is an abstract take on a men’s shoe; designed to add a masculine edge to the women’s collection. Wedge footwear are also a key trend.

With exaggerated proportions that hybridise a moccasin shape with the brand’s signature sock detail, it features a croc embossed leather upper and contrasting smooth calfskin sock. It is also available in black, white, tan, dark brown and yellow colourways, as well as a studded version.
