I found out recently that being generous to people can be demoralising. Tiring, even.
I don’t do this monthly, but every now and then, on a whim, I’d take several cartons of bottled drinking water or a box of mini tissue paper packets to a Buddhist temple in George Town, Penang, with my handwritten note saying, “Free, please take one” plastered on the cartons or box. It’s for anybody to take.
