A treatment for progressive multiple sclerosis (MS) could be on the horizon after researchers found that injecting stem cells into the brains of patients could potentially stop the disease from advancing.
The study said the procedure was “safe, well tolerated and has a long-lasting effect that appears to protect the brain from further damage”.
