Study: Omega-3 fats or fish oil pills might not save you from diabetes

Omega-3 fats have little or no effect on the risk of type 2 diabetes, according to research from the University of East Anglia (UEA) in the UK. Increased consumption of omega-3 fats is widely promoted globally because of a common belief that it will protect against, or even reverse, conditions such as diabetes.

But a systematic review commissioned by the World Health Organisation (WHO) and published in the British Medical Journal on Aug 21, 2019, finds that omega-3 supplements offer no benefit.
