Clearing misconceptions about HIV/AIDS


Despite recent medical developments in controlling the spread of HIV, conversations surrounding the dangers and transmission of the virus are still very much centred around the gay community. However, heterosexual men and women are by far the majority of those who are infected with HIV around the world.

YESTERDAY was World AIDS Day. In the 30 over years since the scourge was first identified, over 30 million people have died from AIDS-related illnesses worldwide, and twice as many have been infected with the HIV virus.
