You’ve got me, Ida

I HAVE to express my admiration for Ida Nerina’s article, Prodding attitudes (Crazy, Sexy, Honestly, Star2 on Sunday, June 5). I was not aware of her wheelchair mobility until I read her refreshing and inspiring perception of our so- called 1Malaysia attitude.

Ida is one of Malaysia’s talented actresses and I have been a fan of hers for a long time. She was spot-on when she wrote Malaysians are tactless when it comes to treating people with special needs. Our public services still lack the facilities and, yes, we do stare a bit longer when someone is “out of the norm”.
