THE letter from Confused (MOE, Feb18) asking about the difference between gerunds (which mean “verbs with – ing that take the form of ‘nouns and adjectives’”) and present participles, (which “are also verbs with –ing but function as a ‘verb’”) was, as usual, adequately answered by Fadzilah Amin.
