HERE’S a fun fact: Children has an energy level akin to that of a well-trained adult.

A study conducted by a group of scientists from a university in France, published in Frontiers in Physiology also found that young children have fatigue-resistant muscles.

The children observed in the study, which was done five years ago, were less tired during high-intensity physical activities than adults. They also recover faster than adult endurance athletes.

With these high levels of energy and their carefree attitude, young children, regardless of age, need to let off steam by engaging in high-intensity physical activities.

While outdoor children’s playgrounds and parks are obvious choices, there are also fun indoor places that are purposely designed to give kids a good workout, unaffected by the weather.

Here are some exciting indoor play areas in the Klang Valley for kids:

Time to play ball

Far Post Academy is not like other kid’s gymnasiums or indoor playgrounds. The academy is a place that lets children have a fun and sweaty futsal session, learning necessary skills like good sportsmanship, team building and discipline. Since futsal is an indoor and supervised sport, parents can rest easy knowing their kids are able to freely play while expending their energy and socialising with their team mates.

There are four classes, split into age groups for kids until the age of 14 and one Elite Class for those who want to take their futsal training to the next level, with the aim of competing in external tournaments and leagues.

Each class has a physical session and an online weekly challenge, technical and tactical training, light reaction training modules, physical assessment and progression report.

The classes are currently being held in three locations; Republic of Futsal in Petaling Jaya, Ace Sports World in Desa Park City and Dewan Anggerik Eria in Kota Kemuning.

Here we jump!

While it is fun and exciting, a 10-minute jump on a trampoline is actually equivalent to a 30-minute run.

A study by The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) found that trampolining is 68% more effective than running and provides equal benefits within a shorter time frame.

And what better way than to make it a fun, quality family time at Amped Trampoline Park Malaysia in Bandar Utama, Petaling Jaya.

The one-of-a-kind trampoline park has double-lane trampolines for those who want to practise their flips, an extra bouncy trampolines for those who want to walk on the wall and a main court that has islands for those who want to rest in-between their jumps.

The 1,020sqm space of interconnected trampolines also has foam pits to jump in from various styles of platforms, from cliff hanger to rock wall and tower challenge.

Best of all, the park is open to both adults and children who are able to walk on their own. This means parents and their children can easily have a fun workout session together.
