Girls and young women feel unsafe in public areas in Germany's large cities, according to a digital survey published on Wednesday by the children's aid organisation Plan.

"Our questionnaire made clear that girls and young women are harassed, pursued, threatened and insulted daily in large German cities," Plan head Maike Roettger said.
