Dr Lowenstein, professor of psychiatry and behavioural sciences at the Miller School of Medicine, University of Miami, presents the findings of his new study, Novel Strategy Shows Promise for Early Detection of Alzheimer’s, published in the September issue of the journal Neurology.

But soon, names slipped his mind too, and then he failed to recognise people. Then he lost his ability to talk and to walk, and then he died, bedridden.
