Two major international rock acts, My Chemical Romance and Evanescence, are set to perform in Kuala Lumpur this November as part of a concert series organised by Hello Universe.

My Chemical Romance will play two shows on Nov 19 and 20 at Bukit Jalil National Stadium, while Evanescence will perform on Nov 28 at National Hockey Stadium.

The announcement sparked excitement online, particularly among fans who came of age in the 2000s, when both bands were at the height of their popularity.

Many social media users expressed surprise that the two acts would be performing in Kuala Lumpur in the same month.

One Threads user wrote: "My Chemical Romance and Evanescence in KL in the same month? Didn't expect this."

Another said the concerts brought back memories of listening to the bands during their school days, adding that they would not want to miss the opportunity to see them live.

Fans who missed out during the initial ticket sale will get another chance, with organisers announcing a limited release of additional tickets for both concerts.

Tickets for Evanescence will go on sale on June 25 from 10am, while the additional batch for My Chemical Romance will be released on July 3, 11am.
