King Charles suffered an unexpected royal dump during a visit to Northern Ireland, courtesy of a seagull flying overhead.

Charles was visiting the southeast coastal town of New Castle on Wednesday (May 20) – the second day of a three-day visit with Queen Camilla – when a passing bird unloaded his bowels from above.

Witnesses said the seagull’s poop hit the back of the King’s jacket, its splatter also striking those around him.

The royal was quick to brush off the incident, declining an offer for a change of clothes before going on to greet more well-wishers. In video shared online, the poop stain is visible as Charles continued to shake hands and interact with members of the community.

“At least it didn’t land on my head!” he joked.

Irene Marting, who witnessed the King’s seagull encounter, said Charles was quick to compose himself, adding that he didn’t let the poop spoil his mood.

“Being hit by a seagull, it’s supposed to be good luck,” Marting added. “We’re so thrilled he’s come to Northern Ireland to see us and it’s really nice to see him in Newcastle.”

The incident followed an earlier stop at a food pantry, where the king grabbed a roll of toilet paper in what is now an uncanny moment of foreshadowing.

“Very important,” he said of the paper product.

The King and Queen were enjoying separate schedules on Wednesday after spending the day together in Belfast on Tuesday.

While Charles, joined by actor and Newcastle native Ian McElhinney, visited the Community Cinema and tried to dodge bird droppings, Camilla visited the village of Royal Hillsborough, where she tried her hand at pouring a pint of Guinness at a local pub. – New York Daily News/Tribune News Service
