Actress and singer Maria Cordero, 72, recently returned to her 334 sq m (3,600 sq ft) holiday home in Sabah for a vacation.

She bought the property with her late husband, Rick da Silva, who died in 2020 after a prolonged illness. The couple were married for 21 years.

During her recent visit, she is said to have spent more than a week at the house, sharing videos of its interior as well as her holiday activities – including diving excursions – with her followers.

Although it has been nearly six years since her husband’s passing, Cordero has often spoken about the loss she continues to feel.

This was evident when she gave her followers a tour of the house, becoming emotional at several points in the video.

In the kitchen, she highlighted a large stainless-steel shelf designed and built by her husband, who was an engineer.

Knowing her love for cooking, he had created the open shelving to give her easy access to pots and utensils.

Cordero added that similar shelves were installed in every home they owned, describing them as enduring symbols of his care and thoughtfulness.

Another standout feature of the house is its spacious living area, which offers views of the surrounding hills and a nearby mosque.

According to Cordero, her husband used to sit there with a cup of coffee, watching the sunset.

She also pointed out a spot where he kept his golf equipment – another quiet reminder of his presence that now underscores his absence.

According to reports, he was diagnosed with lung adenocarcinoma in 2017, and Cordero reportedly spent more than HK$6mil on medical treatment in an effort to save him.
