Hong Kong actor Oscar Leung marked a milestone in his 27-year career after making his screenwriting debut with the Chinese New Year film Mama, Not Again!, shot across multiple locations in Malaysia.
As part of the film's promotion, the 46-year-old visited a food court in Kuala Lumpur, drawing a crowd of curious onlookers as he took on the task of cooking fried rice.
Videos posted on social media showed Leung adding ingredients like eggs, beans and shrimp into the dish.
The former TVB star appeared intently focused as he held the wok in one hand while skillfully manoeuvring the spatula with the other.
"Actors aren't always busy, so when there's nothing to film, I'll help out at restaurants," he joked.
Although some viewers felt that the eggs seemed overcooked and a bit dry, most were entertained that Leung was willing to take on the task.
Other eagle-eyed netizens also noticed a board displaying the name of the late Hong Kong food critic Chua Lam, joking that he would've been "shocked" to see the actor's cooking.
