Malaysian TV director Haris Kadir dies at 60 after battle with lung cancer

Haris Kadir leaves a rich artistic legacy, celebrated in landmark series and telemovies including Manjalara, Misi Anak Bulan and Cinta Ibadah.

The nation’s arts industry has lost another luminary with the passing of veteran drama director Haris Kadir, 60, early this morning.

His death was confirmed by the secretary-general of the Malaysian Film Directors Association (FDAM), Faizal Ariff, who said Kadir died at approximately 5 am at Ampang Hospital after a battle with lung cancer.
