If you’ve been missing the John Wick movies for your dose of big-screen violence, there’s a new film that carries a similar adrenaline-fuelled vibe.

They Will Kill You stars Deadpool actress Zazie Beetz as a woman slicing and dicing her way through a night of terror at her new workplace.

She plays a live-in maid hired at a luxurious apartment building, only to discover on her very first night that the job is far more sinister than it appears.

What initially seems like one of New York City’s most exclusive high-rise residences is, in fact, a front for an evil demonic cult – and Beetz’s character soon realises she is meant to be their next “offering” to Satan.

The trailer is not for the faint-hearted, showcasing an array of inventive and brutal kill sequences as she fights to survive the night.

The official synopsis reads: They Will Kill You unleashes a blood-soaked, high-octane horror action-comedy in which a young woman must survive the night at the Virgil – a demonic cult’s mysterious and twisted death-trap – before becoming their next offering, in a brazen big-screen battle filled with epic kills and wickedly dark humour.

Directed by Kirill Sokolov and produced by Andy Muschietti, Barbara Muschietti and Dan Kagan, the film also stars Myha’la, Paterson Joseph, Tom Felton, Heather Graham and Patricia Arquette.

The film is scheduled to open at cinemas in Malaysia on March 26.
