Taylor Swift has donated US$1mil to the American Heart Association following her father’s successful quintuple bypass earlier this year.
The organidation announced Tuesday that the billionaire singer, 36, is “supporting” their mission “with a personal $1 million contribution to advance ongoing scientific research, stronger prevention and treatment efforts, and expanded access to life-saving care for every community”.
“Swift gave her gift in honor of her father, Scott Swift, whose heart condition she spoke about earlier this year,” continued the AHA.
A rep for the Grammy winner confirmed in mid-July that she was by her dad’s side — as were her mum Andrea and younger brother Austin — during and after the patriarch’s successful quintuple bypass surgery. The operation was spurred by a doctor catching something during a check-up. Scott was confirmed to be “doing fantastic” amid his recovery.
In August, during Taylor’s podcast debut on fiance Travis Kelce’s New Heights, she revealed that both of her parents were on the mend after recent “upgrades,” including Andrea’s knee replacement. – New York Daily News/Tribune News Service
