Newly minted Golden Globe nominee Jacob Elordi got into an heated exchange this week with paparazzi in Paris, claiming they make it “really hard for [him] to live” by doing their jobs.

The Euphoria and Frankenstein star, 28, was flanked by a bodyguard while walking out of a relatively empty train station on Dec 10, when he removed an earbud and turned to the persistent photographers.

“You make it really hard for me to live,” said the BAFTA nominee, according to footage making the rounds online.

“We love you,” replied one paparazzo.

“I don’t love you,” said the Saltburn star. “You make it hard for me to live, all of you. You make it really hard for me.”

Several in the comments section found the interaction to be “so cringe,” and remarked that the bodyguard’s intense presence created more of a scene than anything or anybody else.

“The security looks ridiculous, like a publicity stunt,” wrote one user. “This whole thing is so cringe.”

“The bodyguard is doing way too much for nothing,” said another, while a third wrote in French that his security was behaving as if “there’s an army of fans” when, in fact, “there’s no one.”

As some criticised Elordi for overreacting and being rude to someone just doing what they’re paid to do, others came to his defense.

“Fame is not a free pass for the world to ignore someone’s boundaries,” argued a fan. “Paparazzi may choose this profession, but that doesn’t take away a person’s right to exist without being hunted. You can love someone’s work without making their life harder to live.”

The interaction came two days after Elordi nabbed his first two Golden Globe nominations on Dec 8, for his supporting role in Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein and leading role in the miniseries The Narrow Road To The Deep North. – New York Daily News/Tribune News Service
