After walking out of a televised interview, Miss Universe 2025 Fatima Bosch (pic) opted to go incognito upon her return to her home country Mexico, seemingly trying to dodge the media.

The Mexican beauty queen arrived at the airport with a white baseball cap and hoodie sweater covering her head, while she did not take off her dark glasses. At one point, she had on a pair of earmuffs. A video of Bosch’s arrival was shared by Mexican programme Ventaneando on its Instagram page.

Instead of the usual homecoming ceremony, Bosch was greeted by the members of the media who asked her about the controversies surrounding her pageant win.

One of the press members asked the beauty queen for her statement on claims that her “crown was bought.”

“I have nothing to say on that subject. Have a nice day,” she answered in Spanish, while heading towards the vehicle waiting for her.

It is not immediately known if a homecoming event is set to be held for Bosch as no announcements have been made yet, as of writing.

Prior to this, Bosch reportedly walked out of an interview and cancelled her scheduled guestings on American-Spanish-language TV network Telemundo.

Her abrupt exit was apparently prompted by the interview questions about Miss Universe Organization (MUO) president Raul Rocha’s alleged involvement in drugs, fuel and weapons trafficking, as well as the criminal complaint filed against her by Miss Universe Thailand and Miss Grand International (MGI) president Nawat Itsaragrisil.

In the days leading up to her coronation, Bosch gained prominent attention after standing up to Nawat, allegedly saying that he called her a “dumbhead” during a meeting prior to the sashing ceremony, which prompted her to walk out of the conference hall, with other beauty queens behind her, including then reigning titleholder Victoria Theilvig of Denmark.

Nawat later on apologised, but belied calling her a “dumbhead,” saying what he uttered was the word “damage” due to the fact that she refused to attend some promotional activities for the pageant. A few days after the coronation, Nawat would sue Bosch for defamation.

Meanwhile, Bosch’s victory as Miss Universe 2025 was widely contested as other delegates, including the Philippines’ Ahtisa Manalo, were believed to have performed better than the Mexican beauty queen. Her win was being attributed by critics to her and her father’s ties to Rocha. - Philippine Daily Inquirer/Asia News Network
