Fatima Bosch is firm on keeping her Miss Universe 2025 title until the end of her reign, as she told naysayers that they can just buy their own crown at Walmart.

In an interview since winning the Miss Universe crown, Bosch told ABC News on Wednesday, Dec 3, that the backlash surrounding her win is merely a “campaign of hate” and that her father had nothing to do with her victory.

Former Miss Universe judge Omar Harfouch claimed that Bosch’s win was made possible by her father’s alleged business ties with the pageant organisation’s president Raul Rocha. He also said that an “impromptu jury” was made to decide 30 favoured finalists ahead of the preliminary rounds.

However, the beauty queen insisted that the claims are fake.

“My response to that is he [maybe] wants to get more followers and wants to have a TV show… They make this campaign of hate.

“My father has nothing to do with the organization and it’s crazy,” she continued. “Maybe in Walmart, you can buy a crown. But not in Miss Universe for sure.”

Before the coronation, Bosch made headlines after walking out on the global tilt’s VP for Asiana Nawat Itsaragrisil, which her critics said played a factor in her win. However, the Mexican beauty queen said she put in the “same effort” as her competitors.

“I made the same effort that all [the candidates in the pageant] made. And this is a joke. But I feel like I made history,” she said.

Bosch is the fourth Mexican woman to bring home the Miss Universe crown after Lupita Jones, Ximena Navarette and Andrea Meza, who was notably one of the judges during the 2025 coronation show.

Aside from the reigning titleholder, the MUO continues to bear the brunt of controversy following allegations of its rights being put up for sale, Rocha’s snide remarks against Miss Universe 2022 R’Bonney Gabriel and Cote d’Ivoire’s Olivia Yace and her eventual resignation, and the mounting backlash against Bosch, among others. – Philippine Daily Inquirer/Asia News Network
