Former Miss Hong Kong winner Emily Lo has largely kept away from the public eye since marrying singer Hacken Lee in 2006 and welcoming their two sons.

However, her personal life has recently returned back to the spotlight after her father announced that he was severing ties with her younger brother.

Reports say the decision came after her brother accumulated over tens of millions of Hong Kong dollars in debt, an amount the Lo family has already settled.

"I, Peter Lo, announce that I'm cutting ties with my son Lo Yuk Pui, ID number Z418XXX(2), effective Nov 12, 2025.

"All subsequent actions and financial disputes involving him are unrelated to me or my family," he wrote on Facebook.

Emily, 51, reposted the statement on her Instagram account, expressing heartbreak over seeing her elderly parents suffer due to her brother's debt issues.

"Over the years, our family has done everything to help manage his debts, nearly exhausting our resources, yet nothing has improved. After careful discussion with the family, we made this difficult decision," she wrote.

Emily urged the public to stop asking her about the matter, adding that neither she nor her family will be making any further comments.

Meanwhile, Lee, 57, said in a statement via his manager that he supports his in-laws and wife.

"I'm deeply saddened by the distress my family has endured due to this matter. I fully support and respect the decisions of my father-in-law, mother-in-law and wife.

"We will not comment further and hope everyone can give our family some space," he said.
