A week after the passing of Hong Kong actor Benz Hui, his daughter Charmaine has finally broken her silence.

In an Instagram post on Tuesday (Nov 4), the 28-year-old shared a nostalgic childhood photo of herself with her late father in honour of what would've been his 77th birthday.

"Dad, today is your birthday. These days feel so unreal. May you be free now and go wherever you need to go with peace of mind. I'll just pretend you’re at work. Team B is ready," she wrote in the caption.

Charmaine, who's married to Singaporean banker Shane Sim, went on to thank friends, family and well-wishers for their love and support during this difficult time.

She shared that all of Hui's social media platforms will be retained, so that fans could enjoy tidbits of his life and cherish the joyful spirit he was known for.

Charmaine concluded her post with a message for her late father, writing: "Life will never be the same without you, but I'll do my best to be strong because of you. I miss you and love you endlessly."

Hui passed away from multiple organ failure due to cancer on Oct 28. He was 76.

His funeral is scheduled for Nov 17 at the Po Fook Memorial Hall in Tai Wai, Hong Kong, followed by a cremation ceremony the next day.
