AFTER nearly three decades in the spotlight, Malaysia’s number one singer and celebrated Asian music icon Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza never imagined that her timeless allure would continue to captivate fans, as her Legacy 30 mega concert drew an extraordinary and unexpected wave of support.

Admitting she did not foresee such an incredible reception, the mother of two said the concert – which celebrates her three-decade journey in the music industry – recorded extraordinary sales, with 96% of the more than 60,000 tickets sold out in less than a month.

Deeply touched by the overwhelming support, Siti described the Legacy 30 concert – set to rock the Bukit Jalil National Stadium on Jan 10 – as a symbol of love and loyalty from fans who have supported her throughout her nearly 30-year career.

"Alhamdulillah, ticket sales are almost sold out, with fewer than 2,000 left. Out of 60,000 tickets offered, 58,000 have been sold, and most of those remaining are in the VIP and Platinum categories.

"I honestly didn’t expect such an amazing response. I was quite nervous because this concert will be held on consecutive days and this time at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium. At first, I did wonder, ‘Can we even sell (the tickets)?’ But Alhamdulillah, in less than a month, almost all tickets were gone,” she said.

Met after launching her latest traditional album Gema Bumantara, the Pahang-born singer said that organising such a large-scale concert requires a significant investment but will be managed prudently to avoid unnecessary spending.

"This concert involves a huge investment because it’s being held at the National Stadium, but at the same time, I don’t want to overspend. What matters most is that the audience leaves satisfied, and that the sound system is of the highest quality,” she said.

Promising to entertain her loyal fans with more than 25 songs, Siti said the three-hour concert will feature new musical arrangements that will offer a fresh experience compared to her previous shows.

"I’ll start rehearsals in the second week of November. I have many ideas running through my head, so we’ll see how it all turns out,” she said, adding that sponsors and guest artistes will be announced at a concert press conference soon.

The Bukan Cinta Biasa vocal powerhouse also expressed hope for clear skies on concert day,  wishing for everything to unfold smoothly despite the recent unpredictable weather. – Bernama
