Malaysian icon Tan Sri Michelle Yeoh was recently spotted filming in George Town, Penang.
The 63-year-old delighted onlookers when she appeared at Red Garden Food Paradise around 8pm, arriving in casual attire before changing into a glamorous blue gown and taking the stage to perform several Malay songs.
The crowd enthusiastically joined in the singalong, with many capturing the memorable moment on their phones.
While some reports suggest Yeoh was in town to film a commercial, others speculate she was shooting for a fashion programme.
Yeoh, who hails from Ipoh, made history in 2023 as the first actress of Asian descent to win Best Actress in the Academy Awards’ 95-year history, earning the honour for her stellar performance in Everything Everywhere All At Once.
She’s set to reprise her role as Madame Morrible in Wicked: For Good – the sequel to the 2024 musical fantasy film Wicked – alongside Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo and Jeff Goldblum.
