Hong Kong artistes Alan Tam and Natalis Chan have been close friends for the longest time, with fans often likening their bond to that of brothers.

However, rumours of a fallout circulated last year after Chan, 74, broke away from Tam’s Hong Kong Celebrity Football Team to form his own.

Speculation intensified when the two attended the same wedding banquet but seemed to keep their distance.

Those rumours were laid to rest on Aug 24 when Tam shared on Weibo photos from his 75th birthday celebration, which also featured Chan – much to the delight of fans.

“Who would’ve thought this birthday party would carry on from dusk until the early hours? We ate and drank all the way to dawn,” he wrote in the caption.

In the photos, Tam and Chan were all smiles as they posed alongside renowned actor Eric Tsang, who’s also the general manager of TVB.

The post quickly drew comments from netizens, many of whom expressed joy at seeing the longtime friends reconcile.

While reports of a feud had dominated headlines, both stars previously denied it.

China Press quoted Chan as saying that the pair simply had “their own agendas” when it came to the football team.

Meanwhile, Tam clarified in a past interview with Hong Kong media that although they had their differences, they were never truly on bad terms.

“We’ve been good friends for over 20 years and wouldn’t fall out over such matters,” he said, as quoted by media outlet DotDotNews.
