Hong Kong singer-actor Lee Lung Kei and his 38-year-old fiancee Chris Wong have kept a low profile since her release from prison on July 7.

Wong, a Chinese national whose real name is Wang Qingxia, was sentenced by the Shatin Magistrates’ Court in June 2024 after pleading guilty to five charges – including overstaying in Hong Kong and forging university certificates to obtain an entry permit.

In a recent interview with HK01, Lee, 74, revealed that Wong has since resumed a steady life, dedicating much of her time to managing her family business.

“Since her release, she’s been very busy … Busier than me actually.

“She’s been helping her father run the family business, which is a sizable operation, so there’s plenty on her plate. I’m waiting for her to support me someday,” he said.

Lee also addressed rumours that Wong had left him following her release.

Speculation arose when a photo of the former TVB star dining with friends in Canada circulated online, with netizens noting Wong’s absence.

“From that one picture, some people spun a whole story that my fiancee had left and that I had flown to North America out of loneliness.

“Whoever came up with that must have been a scriptwriter from some TV station … It was too good a story,” he said.

Despite the gossip, Lee stressed that the rumours haven’t shaken his trust in Wong.

“Our relationship is better than ever. She’s seen how I treat her during this time, and I know very well how she treats me. No matter how strong the storm, we won’t be shaken,” he said.

When asked about wedding plans, Lee remained discreet out of respect for Wong, who wishes to gradually step away from the public eye.

As for the possibility of children, the actor isn’t ruling anything out, adding: “We’ll leave it to fate. If it happens, it happens,” he said.
