Despite ongoing tensions with her mother, local actress Anna Jobling took to social media to express her gratitude to her in conjunction with her 25th birthday.
In an Instagram Story on Thursday (Aug 14), Anna – whose real name is Anna Ellisa Gustin – extended her blessing to her mother Ariz Arop, praying that Allah would always protect her.
“Thank you for the beautiful birthday wishes. I’ve read every single one, and each is deeply meaningful to me.
“Thank you to my mum for giving birth to me and raising me. I’ll always pray for Allah to bless and protect you,” she wrote.
The Melur Untuk Firdaus star also conveyed her appreciation to those who have stood by her and supported her every step of the way.
“I’m truly grateful to be surrounded by such amazing people. Please keep me in your prayers as I step into this new phase,” she wrote.
That same day, Ariz also extended her wishes to her daughter. She uploaded two throwback photos of herself cradling a baby Anna, with the captions: “Happy birthday, child” and “Happy bornday.”

The mother-daughter dispute surfaced earlier this week, after Ariz disclosed that Anna had filed an injunction order against her in December 2024.
However, the order was lifted following discussions between lawyers from both sides, though she remains bound by several other conditions.
In an Instagram Story, Ariz accused Anna of treating her "like a stray dog" since rising to fame, despite sacrificing her wealth and energy to provide for her daughter.
She further alleged that a simple argument between them escalated to the point where Anna insulted her and called a lawyer to have her removed from the car.
