Popular Hong Kong actor Bosco Wong has not publicly dated anyone since ending his eight-year relationship with fellow actress Myolie Wu in 2012.

While Wu, 45, married businessman Philip Lee in 2015 and is a proud mother of three, Wong – more than a decade later – has yet to find luck in the romance department.

In a recent interview, the 44-year-old actor revealed that his continued single status is largely due to his mother, who has a knack for driving potential suitors away.

“My mum loves chasing my girlfriends away. She does that even when we’re all having a meal together. Nobody can tolerate that as time passes,” he said, as per Singaporean news portal 8days.

Wong added that once his mother spots something she dislikes about his partner, she doesn’t hold back – even resorting to cussing in front of them to make her point.

The Forensic Heroes V (2022) star even had to apologise to his partners for his mother’s antics on multiple occasions. Eventually, he gave up on introducing them altogether.

“It’s better now. No marriage… It drives my mother insane!” he joked.

Despite having no success with love, Wong isn’t losing sleep over it. In fact, he’s content with bachelorhood, enjoying the freedom and peace that comes with it.

“I don’t have to worry about leaving an inheritance and can spend whatever I earn however I want,” he added with a laugh.
