Former Miss Hong Kong finalist Phoebe Sin, the wife of popular actor Ruco Chan, has sparked concerns after disclosing that she had been unwell for over a month.

In a recent Instagram update, Sin, 35, shared four makeup-free photos showing noticeable swelling on her face and neck.

“Everyone shows their best and most glamorous sides on social media, but the truth is, we’re all human, and there will always be times when things don’t go our way,” she said.

Sin – who shares a six-year-old daughter with Chan, 48 – revealed that her illness began with eye inflammation, followed by facial swelling and then pain in her neck.

While the former TVB star initially brushed it off, she later sought medical attention when the symptoms persisted and began interfering with her daily life.

“I was told to rest and take care of myself. I began scaling back on work and reminded myself it was time to pause and reset both mentally and physically,” she added.

To unwind and recharge, Sin turned to concerts, golf, spa treatments and soaking up vitamin D from the sun.

She urged everyone to be more vigilant about their mental and physical health.

“On the road of constant striving, proper rest is necessary. Only when you’re in a good state can you achieve better results at work and take care of your loved ones.”

Many celebrity friends, including actors Benjamin Yuen, Grace Chan and Myolie Wu have since left comments wishing Sin a speedy recovery.

“Health is the most important thing,” said actress Karlie Chung.

Fellow television star Bowie Cheung commented: “Call me anytime!”
