Taiwanese artiste Jeffrey Kung has officially started a new chapter in his life.

On Tuesday (May 20), the 43-year-old revealed that he and his Malaysian girlfriend Eunice Jaymie Tan had registered their marriage in Beverly Hills, the United States, at the end of 2024.

The couple, who got engaged in March last year, plans to celebrate their union with two wedding ceremonies later this year – one in Los Angeles and another in Putrajaya.

Speaking to Taiwanese media, Kung, who was born in the US, said he met Tan online in 2023.

Drawn to her beauty, he decided to take a chance by sending her a message on social media – a decision that led to the start of their relationship.

Kung, known for his award-winning album 01, also shared a funny story about how he told his future father-in-law of his plan to propose to Tan in Bangkok, Thailand.

The musician revealed that when he first sought his father-in-law’s blessing, the latter responded: “I’m not sure yet.”

Kung eventually decided to go ahead and propose in secret.

It was only later, after Tan spoke to her father, that the misunderstanding was cleared up.

It turned out that her father hadn’t been questioning their relationship but was simply unsure if Kung would actually follow through with the proposal.

“It was the biggest misunderstanding in my life!” the singer exclaimed.

Tan is reportedly the niece of the late Malaysian business magnate and IOI Group founder Lee Shin Cheng.

She holds a master’s degree in education from the University of Melbourne in Australia and has been working as a teacher for the past seven years.
