Over the past two years, Chinese actress Wang Mian stepped away from the spotlight to focus on her dream of becoming a mother and preparing for pregnancy.

The 40-year-old later underwent in-vitro fertilisation (IVF) treatment and successfully became pregnant. Sadly, she experienced a miscarriage at 10 weeks into her pregnancy.

In a recent video on Xiaohongshu, Wang tearfully shared how she had been eagerly awaiting the arrival of her child, only for the fetus to die due to chromosomal abnormalities.

“I hope there will be no more miscarriages in the world,” she said.

Despite the loss, Wang, known for her performance in the 2018 drama Ruyi’s Royal Love In The Palace, stressed that she isn’t giving up on her dream of becoming a mother.

“I will keep striving to become a mother. I hope that others trying for children will never face the sadness I’m experiencing now,” she added.

According to reports, Wang underwent over 200 injections of ovulation-inducing drugs and made trips to the hospital as many as 25 days a month.

Due to the excessive medication, the actress suffered from swelling and was even misdiagnosed as obese at one point.

Additionally, while preparing herself for pregnancy, Wang was diagnosed with stage zero cervical cancer (a precancerous condition where abnormal cells are present on the surface of the cervix but haven’t spread to other tissues) and endometriosis (a disease in which tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside the uterus).

These conditions not only affected her ability to conceive but also worsened her health.
