Hong Kong actor Nicholas Tse has not only made a name for himself in the film industry but also in the culinary world.

According to China Press, the 44-year-old recently celebrated the fourth anniversary of his brand Chef Nic’s Choice, revealing that its signature grilled sausages have generated an impressive 1.5bil yuan (RM915mil) in revenue over the past four years.

Tse’s grilled sausages have also claimed the title of the top-selling food product in mainland China for three consecutive years.

Reports highlight that his online store on Douyin, China’s version of TikTok, sells the sausages at 109 yuan (RM66.50) per set, which includes three boxes – each containing eight sausages.

Founded in 2021, Chef Nic’s Choice saw rapid growth from the start, surpassing 100mil yuan (RM61mil) in total gross merchandise value (GMV) within nine months.

By its third year, sales had soared past 1bil yuan (RM610mil), cementing the brand’s success.

Beyond its signature sausages, Chef Nic’s Choice offers a variety of popular products such as instant pasta, pork luncheon meat, and xiao long bao (Chinese soup dumplings).

Tse’s culinary journey began in 2014 with the launch of his food travelogue show Chef Nic.

A year later, he opened a bakery in Hong Kong, followed by the debut of his own lifestyle and food brand Chef Nic in 2016.

In October 2016, Tse was honoured as the first “Friend of Michelin” in recognition of his contributions to the gastronomic scene.

The actor made headlines in November 2017 after preparing one of the courses for a gala dinner with six Michelin-star chefs.
