Hong Kong actor Vinci Wong has been declared bankrupt by the city’s High Court.

Judge Jack Wong Kin-tong made the order against the 54-year-old on Tuesday (March 3), where the debtor was absent from the hearing.

Wong, who served as the chairman of Tung Wah Group of Hospitals in 2018 and 2019, filed for bankruptcy in December last year.

The move came after a credit firm sued him for allegedly failing to repay an unsecured loan of HK$2.8mil (RM1.6mil).

At that time, Wong told reporters that he’s unable to provide further comments as the case has entered legal proceedings.

However, the former TVB star said he’s not giving up hope, adding: “I will continue facing it with positivity and strength.”

According to Dimsum Daily, Wong holds a 28% stake in Wong Kong King International – an electronics investment company founded by his grandfather Wong Wha-san.

Over the years, he has served as a host for various programmes and appeared in dramas such as Life For Life, Healing Hands II, Hidden Treasures and more.
