HK actress Michelle Wai’s husband tears up at wedding: ‘I hope our souls stay together forever’

Hong Kong actress Michelle Wai and boyfriend, aesthetic doctor Kenley Chau, generated buzz after marrying at a church on Feb 16.

The couple celebrated their union with a lavish banquet at Hong Kong's Island Shangri-La Hotel in Admiralty, surrounded by family and celebrity friends.

During the reception, Wai took a moment to thank her family for their unwavering support.

"You're not losing a daughter but gaining a son. I will continue to be filial to you," the 40-year-old said, before turning to her in-laws, promising to care for them too.

The actress, known for her role in the hit Hong Kong film The Last Dance (2024), also moved her husband to tears with a touching tribute.

She announced her engagement to Chau in June 2024.

"I'm grateful that you appeared in my life when I needed you the most. In another lifetime, I hope we can meet sooner," she added.

When it was Chau’s turn to speak, the aesthetic doctor confessed that he had imagined marrying Wai countless times.

"Meeting Michelle was the greatest stroke of luck and the biggest blessing in my life," he shared.

Chau went on to reveal that he had noticed Wai long before they crossed paths.

He first saw her in a YouTube video and was instantly drawn to her optimism and kindness.

"She loved cracking jokes. Although they weren't all that funny, I found her to be endearing.

"For some reason, I felt like I'd meet her one day. Who would've thought that today, I'd be marrying her?"

Chau described Wai as the most precious and important person in his life, adding that the actress has given strength and helped him through challenging times.

He also vowed to love and care for her, not only in this lifetime but in the next too.

"I hope our souls will stay together forever. May we grow old together. Thank you for loving me," he said, before embracing his wife.
